Clerk of Courts - Room 331

• Criminal Records.

• Civil Records. This includes the following records:

  • Possession of Property, both real and personal

  • For Partition of Property

  • To Quiet Title

  • Foreclosures

  • Divorces

  • Naturalization Records

  • Liens

  • Judgments

• Other Miscellaneous Records.

County Clerk - Room 331

• School Census Records from 1918 to 1964. The schools consolidated in 1964 and the records are held in each High School District.

• Old Wood County Normal School Transcript Records. Records are on file until the school closed.

• Marriage Applications. An index is available for searching names and dates. The application itself is confidential and is not available.

Register in Probate

• Probate Records. This includes the following records:

  • Wills

  • Petitions for Probate of Wills

  • Letters of Administration and Petitions for Same

  • Bonds for Executors or Administrators

  • Inventories and Appraisement Papers

  • Petitions to Determine Heirship

  • Decrees of Distribution of Estate

• Additional records are available that are closed to the public but can be opened with a court order.

County Treasurer - Room 219

• Tax Rolls. Tax rolls have been kept for 11 years. There also a few older ones. Most older rolls are stored at the Resource Center, University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

• Assessment Rolls. The files are kept in the Assessor's office and in the separate districts.
